Staining & Finishing / Colorado statewide

Let the material speak.

Some surfaces call for the character of the wood to remain part of the story. Discuss a stained finish for the architectural details that deserve a considered treatment.

A clear scope

The work,
thought through.

01

Wood surfaces

Identify the wood surfaces you want considered, where they are located and what you know about their current condition and finish.

02

Architectural accents

Discuss the wood details that sit alongside painted siding, trim or other materials, with clear boundaries between finish types.

03

Color and material character

Describe the appearance you are looking for and how much of the existing wood character you want to retain. Suitability depends on the actual surface.

04

A combined painting scope

If staining is part of a larger residential or exterior project, identify both the stained and painted surfaces in the same inquiry.

The existing surface matters.

Wood species, current coatings, condition and exposure affect the conversation about a new finish. Share what you know and describe the result you have in mind. The estimate should identify the surfaces and treatment being proposed; stripping, restoration, structural repair and specialty remediation are not assumed parts of our listed staining service.

Let’s talk about your project
A few useful details

Before
we begin.

Can you stain a surface that is currently painted?

That depends on the surface and existing coating. Do not assume a stain can be applied over the current finish or that removal work is included. Describe the existing condition so the scope can be discussed.

Can staining be combined with exterior painting?

Yes, you can inquire about both. Identify the wood surfaces intended for stain and the separate surfaces intended for paint.

Does staining include wood restoration or structural repair?

Restoration and structural repair are not automatically included in staining work. Tell us about existing damage or finish concerns so we can discuss what your project needs.
